AS Monaco prioritising Takumi Minamino signature

Sébastien Denis is reporting that AS Monaco are strongly focusing on the signature of Liverpool attacker Takumi Minamino (27), who is reported to be available for a fee between €15-20m.

According to Denis, Monaco are very much “fixed” on the idea of signing the Japan international. He added that he is Monaco’s priority in the attacking areas.

Lyon have also reported to be interested in the Liverpool player, according to Paul Joyce, although Denis isn’t aware of any interest from Les Gones.

Monaco reportedly have a large transfer budget this year, potentially larger than PSG’s, after selling Aurélien Tchouaméni (22) to Real Madrid for a reported €100m.

Whilst Monaco have also been linked with a Tchouaméni replacement in the shape of either Danilo (21) or Amadou Onana (22), they are also known to be interested in reinforcing in the attacking areas. Paul Mitchell told L’Équipe in May that he “wishes to add an offensive element, either a wide-man or a centre-forward.”

The versatile Minamino, who can play out wide, as a no.10 or as a no.9 is seemingly Mitchell’s number 1 target and is Monaco’s priority for reinforcing in the attacking areas.
