The Man Has a Point: No One Cares About Asuka As Champion

Becky Lynch turned the full force of her Twitter fury on new SmackDown Women’s Champion Asuka on Friday night, and as usual there’s a lot of truth to the smack talk.
Lynch tweeted that she wasn’t beaten at TLC, when RAW Women’s Champion “Rowdy” Ronda Rousey dumped her and Charlotte Flair off the top of a ladder outside the ring to allow the Empress of Tomorrow to ascend another ladder and yank down the belt to claim the championship. The Man also stated in her tweet that when she was champ, that belt was the talk of the industry and matches involving her were main events. She said now that Asuka is champ all of the spotlight is off the belt. Considering Asuka isn’t main eventing any of the Tuesday TV episodes these days, The Man has a point. Here’s Lynch’s tweet:

No one beat me to become champ. When Asuka left TLC my championship was RED hot, the main event title, and the talk of the business. How’s it doing now? Exactly. I am that title. I am the #foreverchamp. pic.twitter.com/QpYBoBEmSx

As noted earlier in the week, all of the arenas in Canada on the WWE Road to WrestleMania Live event shows featuring the SmackDown roster in early February are advertising Lynch as SmackDown Women’s Champion again. Those advertisements also have Lynch wrestling only Flair on that tour, so that would lead you to believe Lynch either wins the belt back at the Royal Rumble or the SmackDown after the Rumble in Phoenix in late January if those ads are correct. Regardless of how things shake out, it’s clear The Man will be a focal point for the WWE this year after John Cena put her over in the ring and behind the scenes this week.
