WWE Friday Night Smackdown Viewership Up 185% in Return to FOX

WWE Friday Night Smackdown bounced back in a major way this week, confirming that last week’s shocking new low had more to do with the temporary move to FS1 than anything else.

The Nov. 1st edition of the show was seen by an average of 2.54 million viewers in its return to FOX, an increase of about 185%. More importantly, the show was up a little over 4% from Oct. 18th, the last episode on FOX. It’s actually the first time the series has gained viewers since leaving the USA Network.

Smackdown was actually the #1 show on network television for Friday night within adults 18-49, scoring a 0.8 rating. In overall viewership WWE was further down the list (fourth from the bottom in fact) but nobody could topple them in the target demographic.

Next week’s number could shine a little bit of light on this week, and what actually effected the overall score. Obviously the move back to FOX from FS1 was most of it, but there was also a lot of eyes on the product due to the question of what they would do with the entire roster stranded in Saudi Arabia, the reports of NXT stars being flown throughout the day, etc.
