After police dug up the premises of the government children’s home (balika grih) on Sahu Road under the Town police station area in Muzaffarpur on July 23 to locate the remains of a minor girl, who was allegedly killed and buried on the campus, a medical test has confirmed that 34 out of 44 girls were raped at the shelter home.

The medical examination of the girls was conducted at Patna Medical College and Hospital. After the incident, the investigation team has recovered medical equipment, sedatives and a secret staircase providing credibility to the fact that the girls were drugged before they were raped.
