Rennes are looking for ‘no less’ than €30m deal for Mathys Tel (17)

According to Foot Mercato Rennes are looking for no less than 30m including bonuses for young Stade Rennais striker Mathys Tel (17) – with Bayern Munich set to prepare a third offer after their €22.5 bid was turned down.

The player wants to join the German giants and is guaranteed not to play for Rennes again until negotiations are completed between the two clubs. Bayern have been informed on the Breton club’s expectations and could match their demands.

The Bundesliga champions have had their eyes on the 17-year-old, who are looking to reinforce their attacking options after Robert Lewandowski’s imminent departure for Barcelona. Tels made seven appearances in Ligue 1 last season, but is seen as technically and physically capable of becoming part of a rotating forward line at Bayern – potentially playing around 20 games a season.

The Bavarian side presented a long term project by which the player could become the definitive number nine for the club – which reportedly won over the youngster.
