According to L’Équipe, PSG’s President Nasser Al-Khelaïfi will appear in court in Switzerland this week, following an appeal after his acquittal in October 2020. This comes in the week when the Parisian side will take on Real Madrid in the second leg of the Champions League Round of 16.
The Qatari, who is simultaneously the president of the BeIN Media Group, was accused of “unfair management” and is suspected of having offered “undue advantages” to FIFA Secretary General Jérôme Valcke in order to obtain television rights for the 2026 and 2030 World Cups.
In 2020, the prosecution had requested 28 months of imprisonment for Al-Khelaïfi.
