Official | Arsenal sign teenage midfielder Matteo Guendouzi from Lorient

Arsenal have announced the signing of Lorient midfielder Matteo Guendouzi for an undisclosed fee.

The 19-year-old started his career in the youth academy of Paris Saint Germain before moving to Lorient back in 2014, making his first team debut at the age of 17 and continued to impress new Arsenal boss Unai Emery across the Spaniards spell at PSG.

“I want to become part of the club’s history and to achieve great things here. Arsenal have always been the team closest to my heart and a side I have wanted to join ever since I was a young boy,” said the young midfielder.

At the age of 19, he made 30 appearances for Lorient across all competitions and was scouted by PSG via the request of Unai Emery, with the former PSG boss making Guendouzi his fifth signing following the acquisition of Bernd Leno, Sokratis Papastathopoulos, Stephan Lichsteiner and Lucas Torreira.
