Rennes yesterday completed the signing of attacking midfielder Romain Del Castillo from Lyon for €2m to €3m.

The 22-year-old has signed a 4-year contract at Roazhon Park after having spent last season on loan at Nîmes, where he played an important role in their promotion from Ligue 2, scoring 4 goals and mustering 8 assists in 31 appearances.

Castillo is a youth product of the Lyon academy and also played the majority of the 2016/17 season at Championnat National side Bourg en Bresse during another loan spell.

The purchase of Castillo is Rennes’ third signing of the summer after recruiting Swedish midfielder Jakob Johansson and forward Theoson Siebtatcheu as manager Sabri Lamouchi looks to bolster his squad for next season’s Europa League campaign.
