Brit designer Jenny Packham does colour like no other. On Sunday afternoon, the press, buyers and Packham fans swarmed into the tent on the west lawn of the Natural History Museum for what was a great show.
Packham favoured tropical colours and riotous flower prints featured in long tiered with a definite Latino touch. Babydoll dresses featuring glittering paillettes gave off an sexy, ethnic vibe. Huge flowery sombreros topped tiered cut-off blouses and bikini bottoms in the same fabric, as well as 40s style bathing suits.
Tops were embellished with elaborate beading, frills and tiers, recalling gorgeous flameco dancers in all their opulence and grace. Colour combinations were daring, such as lilac combined with a mustard brown finish. Details, such as ruched epaulettes were playful and young. Dresses featured peek-a-boo cut-aways that were sexy in a subtle and stylish way. Embellishments included flower appliqués and colourful beading.

The feel of the afternoon was one of old school glamour with a healthy doses of humour. Always a good combination in the world of fashion.
