Ahead of Markle and Prince Harry’s big day, Diana’s second dress designer and Emmanuel’s then-husband, David, expressed that Meghan couldn’t be a “sex bomb,” saying: “What would I put Meghan in? Something sleek and clean, quite bodied with a long train, and I’d put her in a clinging silk crepe. But, you know, she can’t be the sex bomb on her wedding day. She can look smoldering and wonderful, but it’s got to be regal.”

Though she didn’t wear a clinging gown, David wasn’t completely off with his assessment, as the Duchess of Sussex walked down the aisle in a pure silk design, which was cushioned by a triple silk organza underskirt. A sleek waist and three-quarter sleeves added just enough modern femininity.
