Lady Gaga was noticeably absent from E!’s red carpet pre-show at the American Music Awards on Sunday night. She’s set to perform during tonight’s ceremony—along with Selena Gomez, Nick Jonas, and Christina Aguilera—and you know we’ve had our eyes peeled for Mother Monster since minute one. But, alas, Gaga never showed up—or did she … ?

Although she didn’t appear during the pre-show, she was technically on an AMAs red carpet. Lady G. was prepping for the show virtually—she’s currently on her Joanne world tour, which is in Washington, D.C., tonight. But that didn’t stop the powerhouse from getting her AMAs glam-on.

As per usual, Gaga gave us her all, posing on her personal red carpet in a plunging black Alaïa minidress, her curly blonde locks flowing past her shoulders.

Somehow, Gaga has managed to totally reinvent a piece as classic as an LBD.
