The adidas Boost Boston Games is North America’s first and only “street meet”, bringing world-class track and field out of the traditional stadium and onto a temporary straightaway track in the heart of one of America’s most iconic cities.

Noah Lyles, one of the most exciting sprinters in the world, will return to the adidas Boost Boston Games as defending champion in the Men’s 150m. Lyles finished the 2018 season undefeated over 200m, culminating in his second consecutive IAAF Diamond League trophy at that distance. At 100m, Lyles earned his first US national title in a personal best of 9.88, and ended his season with a win over 100m at the IAAF Continental Cup.
“My race at last year’s adidas Boost Boston Games was a great step towards a fantastic season,” says Lyles. “The thrill of racing down a track that’s packed with fans is something I look forward to again this year.”
Returning as a two-time adidas Boost Boston Games winner will be Shaunae Miller-Uibo. The 2016 Olympic champion at 400m has set world bests in each of her two victories in Boston: 21.76 for the straight 200m in 2017, and 16.23 for 150m in 2018. Miller-Uibo ended last year undefeated and this past Saturday, ran her first individual race of the 2019 season – a stunning 49.05 for 400m, the second-fastest time of her career and faster than any woman has ever gone before the month of June.

Mid-distance races also hit the streets
Headlining the adidas Boost Boston Games’ brand-new 600m road races will be Ajee’ Wilson and Michael Saruni. Wilson is the American record-holder and the 2017 IAAF World Championships bronze medalist at 800m. Saruni is the second-fastest man in history at 600m indoors and set a Kenyan-national record for 800m indoors, running 1:43.98 to become the second-fastest man in history. The men and women’s 600m road races are a new addition to the program and will finish on the same track the sprint events are taking place on.
Also new are the adidas Boost Boston Games Road Miles, all of which finish on the elevated track. The elite men’s race will be led by veteran Nick Willis, a two-time Olympic medalist at 1500m and four-time 5th Avenue Mile champion. The adidas High School Dream Mile races will again bring the best middle-distance high school runners from around the country, but this time will test them on the spectator-filled streets.
Earlier in the day, the public will participate in the new adidas Boost Back Bay Mileraces, held on the same course as the elite races. The races will be divided by age group. Registration is available today at www.adidasboostboston.com.
The adidas Boost Boston Games, produced by Boston-based Global Athletics and Marketing, Inc., is part of the 2019 USATF Outdoor Championship Series and will be broadcast live from 3:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. EDT on NBC Sports Gold and from 4:30 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. EDT on NBC on Sunday, June 16.
