Le Cannet does not waste time nor energy

The 8th leg of the French league opened up with the game between SF Paris St. Cloud against last position, Hainaut.  Odds were obviously running in favor of capital team and the final result did not fail to consent so: 3-1 (25-22, 21-25, 25-17, 25-13), not giving any chance to coach Oukarache and his girls who are still up to 2 points and no victory since the beginning of the season.

Le Cannet made it to the first position after a straight sets’ victory against St. Raphaël. Elisabeth Fedele leads the scorers’ charts with 18 points, while her team mate, Marina Zambelli scored 13 times. Le Cannet climb up on the first position in front of Nantes who needed five sets to beat Venelles and Cannes who scheduled to play in Terville on Monday, the 15th of January. Nantes, on their side, struggled against the 7th place, Venelles, and needed the tie-break to claim the victory. Thanks to 34 points scored by Angie Bland and Ariel Turner together, Nantes keeps the second position, one points away from Le Cannet.

Clear victories for Béziers and Mulhouse against Vannes, respectively Istres. Alessandra Guerra Franco welcomed her former team mates from Béziers, but in the end managed to steal only one set. Vannes conserves therefore their 8th place in regular season. Mulhouse, on the other side, claimed an easy home victory against Istres: 3-0 (25-17, 25-21, 25-15). Tanja Bokan was by far best scorer of the game with 15 points, followed by Stephanie Niemer and Olga Trach, each with 11 points.
