Matt Riddle Series Ends, Riddle’s 1st Shirt, Halftime Heat Record

For those who are unaware, WWE has a YouTube channel dedicated to showcasing some of the incredibly athletes and aspiring wrestlers currently training in the WWE Performance Center. One series that has been introduced on the PC’s channel is called “Arrival,” and the first few episodes of the show have been dedicated to showing Matt Riddle finally making it to WWE. The show has gone over his time in MMA, his original WWE tryout, some of his independent work, and finally signing with WWE and moving to Orlando to begin training at the Performance Center. The web-series has now officially come to an end with a special episode focused on Matt Riddle’s first NXT match and NXT Takeover match.

“The King of Bros” has experienced a ton of success already during his short run as an NXT Superstar. Not only is Riddle still undefeated on NXT television right now, but he just scored a huge win over 205 Live’s Drew Gulak during this week’s edition of the show. Additionally, Matt Riddle received his first official piece of WWE merchandise this week. The shirt even has “EST. 2015” written on it, which is a nod to Riddle starting his career in the pro wrestling industry in New Jersey’s Monster Factory back in 2015. Having merchandise is a sure sign of making it in WWE, so this is a huge milestone in Riddle’s NXT run. Rather than watch Maroon 5’s concert during halftime of the NFL’s Super Bowl game this year, WWE gave fans the option to watch Halftime Heat instead. For the first time since 1999, WWE broadcasted a match during halftime of the big game, and it saw Ricochet, The Velveteen Dream, and Aleister Black defeat the team of Johnny Gargano, Tommaso Ciampa, and Adam Cole in a six-man tag team match at the WWE Performance Center. The match has just broken a huge record as Ricochet was the first to break the news that Halftime Heat is the most watched match in NXT history. The match is available to watch on WWE’s social media platforms, the WWE Network, and on WWE’s official YouTube channel.

It’s official, #HalftimeHeat is the most watched match in @WWENXT history.
