Robert (Bob) L. Hanson, age 76, of Lindstrom, Minnesota, died unexpectedly on Saturday, May 2, 2015.

Hanson was the head wrestling coach at Chisago Lakes for 25 years beginning in 1967.

He coached three teams to the state tournament (1976, 1983, 1984) under the two-class system, as well as 60 individual state qualifiers. His sons Chris (’82) and Joel (’89) wrestled for him.

Hanson was inducted into the Chisago Lakes Hall of Fame (article) in 2011.

A celebration of Bob’s life took place on May 8th in Lindstrom, Minn. Many of the wrestlers he coached and mentored attended his wake and funeral. Obituary at chisagocountypress.com
