SPOILERS on 1st NXT UK Women’s Champion, Cabana Addressed CM Punk

As reported earlier this week, WWE will be crowning the first-ever NXT UK Women’s Champion. The title was unveiled during the first night of TV tapings for the upcoming series, but during yesterday’s second round of tapings, an inaugural champion was finally crowned. In the end, it was none other than NXT Superstar and Mae Young Classic competitor Rhea Ripley who walked away with the title. The young Australian wrestler celebrated her win in the ring with NXT UK General Manager Johnny Saint and Triple H after she was handed the championship. No word on when the NXT UK series will begin airing, but fans can now look forward to seeing Rhea Ripley make history by becoming the first official women’s champion of the brand.

It is common knowledge that Colt Cabana and CM Punk were the best of friends for years and years. The two Chicago natives had a friendship that went back decades, and it seemed as if the two pro wrestlers would be friends forever. Unfortunately, that all came to an end after it was reported that CM Punk ended their friendship because Cabana attended a WWE event backstage while they were both being sued by WWE doctor Chris Amann for remarks that Punk made about him during Cabana’s podcast several years ago. A judge ruled in favor of Punk and Cabana earlier this year, but their friendship has not resumed. In fact, it was reported a few weeks back that Cabana is now pressing charges against Punk.

Cabana is claiming that Punk did not help pay for his legal fees even though he informed him that he would during the trial. On the latest edition of Cabana’s Art of Wrestling podcast, he finally broke his silence on the matter and took the time to talk about the former WWE Champion. Cabana simply noted that he was stressed out when the news was first broken to the public, and he hopes that the issue will be resolved sooner rather than later. Cabana also denied the report claiming that the friendship came to an end because he attended a WWE show, adding that he has not been backstage for any WWE events in over four years. Colt says that he will not be discussing the subject anymore until it plays out fully in court. “All I want is for this thing to be settled, to be done with and to move on with my life.” Cabana says.
