Almas’ SD Debut Confirmed, More MITB Participants, Mandy Rose

The Superstar Shakeup from last month included quite a few callups from NXT to WWE’s main roster, but one of the most anticipated arrivals has got to be Andrade “Cien” Almas and Zelina Vega’s debut on Smackdown. With Vega by his side, Almas became a top star in NXT and managed to capture the brand’s world title before he lost it to Aleister Black at NXT Takeover: New Orleans. Vignettes have been airing on Smackdown over the past few weeks hyping up the eventual appearances of Almas and Vega, but no confirmation on a debut date had been made. However, on last night’s Smackdown show, it was announced that both of these superstars will be arriving on next week’s edition of the show in the UK.

On this week’s Monday Night Raw, a few different qualifying matches for the Money in the Bank ladder matches took place. Ember Moon secured her spot in the women’s ladder match while Braun Strowman and Finn Balor have officially entered the men’s match. More qualifying matches took place on Smackdown last night, and it looks like The Miz and Rusev will be joining the men’s Money in the Bank ladder match. Charlotte Flair also defeated Peyton Royce to become the second participant in the women’s Money in the Bank ladder match. A qualifying match between The New Day and The Bar will take place on Smackdown next week, and one member of the winning team will be added to the men’s Money in the Bank match.

After Paige retired from the ring and became the General Manger of Smackdown, it only made sense for her to move her former Absolution teammates, Mandy Rose and Sonya Deville, over to Smackdown as part of the Superstar Shakeup. However, Paige is not picking favorites now that she is General Manager. This was made clear after she announced that Absolution had no choice but to come to an end a few weeks ago. Rose and Deville will now begin solo careers in WWE, and Rose got started on her new run last night. On this week’s Smackdown, Rose debuted a brand new entrance before she defeated Becky Lynch. Perhaps she will be added to the women’s Money in the Bank match at some point down the road.
