Dolph Ziggler & Jerry Lawler Updates, Carmella’s First Defenses

WWE’s Dolph Ziggler has been a loyal member of the company for several years now, so it seemed like a forgone conclusion that he would be signing a new contract with the company very soon. However, Ziggler recently stated that he has not signed any new deal with WWE lately. An update provided from PWInsider has confirmed that Ziggler still has not re-signed with WWE and that his current deal with the company will be expiring at some point during the summer. Ziggler was recently traded to Raw as part of the Superstar Shakeup, and it looks like he has formed a new onscreen alliance with Drew McIntyre. Stay tuned for additional updates on Dolph Ziggler’s WWE status.
Fans were startled when WWE Hall of Famer Jerry “The King” Lawler revealed on his podcast that he had suffered a stroke, which nearly cause him to have to miss announcing at WrestleMania. Lawler has indicated since then that he is doing alright, but he just provided another update on his health during the latest edition of his “Dinner With the King” podcast. Lawler says that the stroke occurred because he had not been taking his blood pressure medicine for nearly a month. Lawler says that his blood pressure increased so much that it caused a hemorrhage in his brain. Fortunately, Lawler is taking his medication once again and his blood pressure has already been going back down.
When Smackdown Superstar Carmella held the Money in the Bank briefcase, there were some fans who thought that she may never cash in her contract. She proved her doubters wrong when she finally cashed in her contract and won the Smackdown Women’s Championship for the first time in her career earlier this month. The title celebration cannot last too long for “The Princess of Staten Island” though because she is already being advertised to defend her championship. PWInsider has just found listings for consecutive live events starting tomorrow in Johnson City, Tennessee, then in Chatanooga, Tennessee, before wrapping up the weekend in Bowling Green, Kentucky. Carmella is scheduled to defend her title against Charlotte Flair for all three shows this weekend.
