Don’t expect to see much of the Hardy Boyz on television going forward. The duo have appeared for WWE events almost every night since returning to the company at Wrestlemania this year. They have put their bodies on the line, but the time may have come for the brothers to slow it down in the ring for a while. Neither one of the Hardy Boyz appeared on Raw this week, and it was explained that they suffered injuries in their steel cage match against Cesaro and Sheamus at Extreme Rules. However, they are both actually just taking a few weeks or so off until they are ready to step back into the ring again.
PWInsider is reporting that both of the Hardys are going to be working a lighter schedule in WWE from this point forward. Both Matt and Jeff Hardy will be in their 40s this year, so WWE likely doesn’t want them to take risks on their bodies night after night the way that they have been. Also, Matt Hardy and his wife Reby are expecting their new baby boy to be born in the next few days. Both Hardy brothers were working a full-time schedule when they returned to WWE earlier this year, but it looks like weekly appearances from the brothers may no longer be a guarantee. They should be returning not long after Matt’s second child is born.
The Hardy Boyz are still going to be working with WWE, and they will likely continue feuding with Cesaro and Sheamus. No word on when the two of them are expected to be back on television, but they will likely earn a rematch for the Raw Tag Team Championships at Great Balls of Fire next month. Jeff and Matt will be turning 40 and 43-years-old this year respectively this year. With both of the Hardys getting older, and with the “Broken” gimmick still floating around in purgatory, WWE is going to savor the popular Hardy Boyz reunion tour act while it’s still fresh. The new schedule is not thought to be as free as Brock Lesnar’s schedule, but it is a lighter one from what that they had previously been working.
