— The tag team Sanity, who have yet to make their TV debuts on Smackdown were backstage at last night’s Money in the Bank. Since being called up as part of the Superstar Shakeup in April, the only note of relevance has been a vignette that aired. According to an unconfirmed report, WWE called them up likely to participate in Money in the Bank when there were original plans to have a third ladder match featuring tag teams.
— James Ellsworth made his return to WWE TV at Money in the Bank, assisting Carmella in her victory over Asuka. WWE tried their best to keep Ellsworth’s return a secret (despite reports last week suggesting he’d be there) by having him hide in a bus until he was ready for his segment on the PPV.
— Former Impact Wrestling talent Aiden O’Shea was also backstage at Money in the Bank. He was also at last night’s NXT show and was actually one of the “officials” trying to help Johnny Gargano.
