More on Reigns/Lesnar at WrestleMania 34, Details on WWE's Plans for Reigns

  • Despite there really being no long-term planning in WWE booking, the company has tentatively penciled in Brock Lesnar vs. Roman Reigns for the Universal Title at WrestleMania 34 on April 8, 2018.

  • It is not clear how the two will get there, or whether this means Lesnar will hold onto the belt for a year, but WWE’s goal is very much to turn Reigns into the next John Cena. This was actually the plan two years ago but they postponed it due to the negative fan reaction Reigns was generating.

  • The plan is now once again to gradually build Reigns up for a year and have a big crowning moment at WrestleMania with Reigns not only as a face, but to fully replace Cena as the lead babyface of the company.
