IN-RING SEGMENT
William Regal came out to provide everyone with an update on his search for Aleister Black’s attacker, but before he could say anything the Undisputed Era hit the ring. Adam Cole told him to stop pretending to be Sherlock Holmes and actually do his job as NXT General Manager. Strong wants to know what he is going to do about the War Raiders involving themselves in U.E. business.
Cole wants his rematch against Ricochet, but Regal won’t give it to him tonight because of the recent attack on him and Pete Dunne meant to “soften them up”. Instead, in two weeks time it will be Cole vs Dunne vs Ricochet in a triple threat match for the NXT North American Championship. And just for good measure, in three weeks the Undisputed Era will put the tag titles on the line against the War Raiders.
BACKSTAGE SEGMENT
It’s announced that Johnny Gargano will face off against Tony Nese on next week’s episode of WWE NXT. Gargano apologized for the way things have been going with Velveteen Dream, and he doesn’t like the person that he has been turning into. He promised to change all that next week.
Lacey Evans came up and started playing mind games with Candice LeRae, calling her a bad wife for trying to put distance between herself and her husband’s career. She even tried to flirt with Johnny a bit, and Candice shoved her off. Gargano said Lacey isn’t worth their time and they left together.
LARS SULLIVAN def. VICTOR ORCHANT via disqualification. Sullivan beat up his opponent for a few minutes until EC3 came through the crowd and attacked the monster from behind. EC3 got the upper hand, dumping Sullivan over the ropes before leaving.
THE MIGHTY def. THE STREET PROFITS. No fooling around from the Profits this week, interestingly enough. They got to work but The Mighty is eventually able to isolate Ford and destroyed his ankle between the steel steps and the ring post. He tried to mount a comeback, but the leg gave out, and Shane Thorne rolled him up with a unique pinning combination to steal the win.
KAIRI SANE def. VANESSA BORNE. Yeah… Good luck, Borne. She unwisely tried to get heat before the match by mocking Sane’s pirate gimmick then kicking her hat out of the ring. Sane hit a few new moves this week including a big rolling DDT and an Interceptor, before hitting her usual offense and scoring the win with the elbow drop.
— Shayna Baszler came out demanding her rematch for the NXT Women’s Championship. The Pirate Princess says she can have her rematch, but it won’t be on NXT television, it will be next month at WWE Evolution.
— Keith Lee does a backstage interview saying he wanted to go after NXT gold. He gets into it a bit with Kona Reeves, who has just as big an ego, and a match is agreed to for next week. Good luck with that, Kona.
TOMMASO CIAMPA def. OTIS DOZOVIC. I was shocked by the amount of offense that Doz brought to the match. He was all full of fight and brought everything he had, it just wasn’t enough against the champ. It actually looked like he might have it put away with a massive pop-up powerbomb, but Ciampa rolled outside and caught the big man with a Hangman’s DDT on the apron, the rolled in and hit another one into the mat to score the win.
