Nice will pay for Versailles’ travel to the Allianz Riviera

Following the reluctant decision to play next Tuesday’s Coupe de France semi-final in Nice, despite Versailles being drawn as the home team, Les Aiglons have offered to pay for Versailles’ plane, bus and hotel.

The president of OGC Nice, Jean-Pierre Rivère spoke to RMC Sport on the matter, explaining that, “if we’d played away from home, we would obviously have left them our ticket revenue. We no longer have to travel ourselves so we should facilitate their travel. How? By paying their plane, bus and hotel fees.”

The gesture is likely to be much appreciated by the Parisian side who currently reside in National 2, the fourth tier of French football and the second division of amateur football.
