Premier League duo Cardiff City and Watford have initiated contact over the possible signing of 24-year-old OGC Nice midfielder Adrien Tameze, according to L’Équipe.

The Franco-Cameroonian ex-Valenciennes prospect wants to stay with Les Aiglons and is even seeking a contract extension, but Watford have mandated an agency to determine at what price Nice could be willing to sell.

Tameze, who is under contract until 2021, has also been approached by Cardiff who have made it known that they would be willing to offer €10m – discussions have been had, but with manager Patrick Vieira enamoured with the player, it is difficult to see a departure happening this month.
