The topic of Daniel Bryan’s future in WWE has been of much speculation and debate for the past year, with the feeling that if WWE did not clear Bryan to return to the ring, he would take his talents elsewhere, and likely wrestle for Ring of Honor or New Japan.
However, after WWE made the decision to clear Bryan to return to the ring at WrestleMania, Bryan’s WWE future looked much brighter and much more permanent, as he was able to get back into the ring and compete.
In the past several weeks, the topic of Bryan’s future in WWE has once again become a hot button, as Bryan recently spoke with Gorilla Position and noted that he would prefer to work a lighter WWE schedule, as both a way to protect him from further injuries, and so that he can spend more time with his daughter Birdie. Bryan noted an ideal schedule for him would be to work 50-100 matches per year, and that appears to be something WWE might be willing to oblige. As we noted yesterday, via Dave Meltzer, the feeling is WWE will acquiesce to Bryan’s wishes, in order to keep him from signing with ROH or New Japan.

In what could be a further indication that Daniel Bryan plans to re-sign with WWE, the WrestleVotes Twitter account is reporting the WWE 2K19 Showcase mode is being centered around Bryan, and with the game being released this fall, it would not make much sense for WWE to highlight a talent in the game that just left the company.
Regarding Daniel Bryan and his contract: WWE has a strong idea on what he’s going to do. So much so, that months ago the decision was made to have the 2K19 Showcase mode revolve around him. Having that game release w/o Bryan on the roster wouldn’t look good. So…. pic.twitter.com/2CPMy6aeZl
