New Japan Pro Wrestling has announced details for their upcoming Kizuna Road tour, kicking off next Friday and extending through the end of the month. For the viewers at home, they’ve got three minor shows at Korakuen Hall from June 17-19th that will all air live on New Japan World, each with a 5:30 a.m. EDT start time.
The first show on 6/17 will be headlined by a NEVER Openweight Championship bout as Michael Elgin defends his new title against the former champion, Hirooki Goto. The 6/18 show will see Hiromu Takahashi’s first defense of the IWGP Jr. Heavyweight Championship taking on Suzuki-Gun’s El Desperado. And of course, the 6/19 show will see the retirement ceremony of the legendary Super Strong Machine, headlined by a massive 10-man tag team invitational that will see five mystery stars don the Super Strong mask.
Jeff Cobb will be returning to NJPW for the tour, after making his debut in the 2017 World Tag League teaming with Michael Elgin. Juice Robinson and IWGP U.S. Heavyweight Champion Jay White will be on opposite sides of three big multi-man tag team matches to build up their bout at the Cow Palace in San Francisco.
