PWInsider reported that Karrion Kross faced Dolph Ziggler and Bronson Reed faced Bobby Roode in their dark matches at last night’s SmackDown. Kross, Scarlett, and Reed were backstage at last night’s show. PWInsider wrote that there was talk that Kross and Scarlett “would be brought back next week, possibly to do some promos.” The dark matches were so that the key powers in WWE could see Kross, Scarlett, and Reed live and first-hand.
Mick Foley, JBL, Naomi, Cathy Kelley, Carmella, Nikki Cross, the cast of WWE’s The Bump, and more will be appearing on tomorrow night’s Hell in a Cell edition of WWE Watch Along.
WWE’s “Heaven” and “Superfan: The Story of Vladimir” documentaries have been selected to be shown at the LA Shorts International Film Festival.
AJ Styles appeared on this week’s episode of After the Bell with Corey Graves.

Impact Wrestling wrote about today being the 19th anniversary of the first TNA show: “The first ever TNA show took place 19 years ago today. We are forever grateful for any support you’ve given us through the years – whether you’ve watched one show or been with us for all 19 years. Thank you.”
Brandon Thurston of Wrestlenomics reported that this week’s Impact episode averaged 111,000 viewers, which is the show’s lowest number since May 20. The rating in the 18-49 demo was approximately a 0.03. Thurston reported that Vice TV’s Vice Versa documentary on Chyna, which also aired on Thursday night, averaged 158,000 viewers.
Cassie McIntosh (formerly known as Peyton Roye in WWE) has filed a trademark for “The IInspiration.”
During an appearance on The Wrestling Perspective Podcast, Dori Prange (Ruby Riott) said she won’t be going back to using her old Heidi Lovelace name: “A lot of people think that I’m going back to Heidi Lovelace. There are a multitude of reasons why I don’t want to do that. I was not a fan of that name. It was given to me by the people who trained me in the backyard. They were watching Raw and a commercial for The Hills came on and they were like ‘Heidi, that’s a name’ and they gave it to me. Nobody ever pronounced Lovelace correctly. Why come up with a wrestling name that people can’t pronounce? That’s a terrible idea. A lot of people thought I was going to go back to it. I have no intentions of going back to Heidi Lovelace. I am shopping for a new name I would like to keep [the name Ruby] if it’s possible. I feel like it fits me. Ruby came from Ruby Soho and that’s dear to my heart.”
Tony Khan told UPI about not wanting to use a video wall of fans during the pandemic era: “I didn’t want to have a video wall, and I pushed back when I got pushed to do a video wall. It was a fine idea and WWE did it, but it wasn’t what I wanted to do. I respect it, it’s good and it’s economical, but I wanted to continue to find a way to do the shows for the fans every week. And the fans at Daily’s Place supported us. We built like a wrestling territory having a weekly audience. I’m really proud of that.”
Khan appeared on the Way of the Blade podcast to discuss Ric Flair vs. Ted DiBiase from Mid-South Wrestling.
Matt Taven vs. Dutch will air on the ROH TV episode that premieres next weekend (Saturday, June 26). Dutch (Bill Carr) is part of Vincent Marseglia’s The Righteous stable in ROH. The match will be Dutch’s ROH in-ring debut.
ROH also hyped that an announcement regarding The Briscoes will be made on this weekend’s TV episode.
Josh Alexander tweeted about making his NJPW Strong debut on last night’s show: “I’ve dreamt of wrestling in [Japan] since I was 10. I borrowed a VHS of the 94′ Super J Cup tourney off my neighbors. I saw Malenko vs. GEDO in the opener & I was hopked. The atmosphere was unlike anything id seen in WCW/WWF. This isn’t quite [Japan], but it’s a step closer. #njpwSTRONG”
